Israel Space Week 27-31 January 2014

The Tel Aviv Port, together with the Israel Space Agency, is holding Space Week at the port on January 27-31.

The host of activities includes a photographic exhibition and interactive attractions such as the Google Glass and new computer games, as well as a workshop for people who want to learn about photographing space (January 30 at 11 a.m.). Free entrance.

As part of the Israeli Space Week events, the Tel Aviv Cinematheque will feature a special screening schedule of space-themed films. Admission to these special screenings is free – but reservation is required (03-6060800, extension 1). The screening schedule is as follows:

Cirque du Soleil in Tel Aviv, Israel. August 2014

Internationally renowned circus, Cirque du Soleil will be coming to Tel Aviv in August 2014 for their second ever performance series in Israel. Performing their show, Quidam, the group will bring their amazing magical acrobatics to Tel Aviv once again. The Red Sea Winter Jazz Festival, 2014 will feature Juan Carmona quintet & Larry Coryell, Samuel Yirga Quartet, Możdżer Danielsson Fresco Trio, Irit Dekel & Eldad Zitrin, Luisa Sobral, and Uriel Herman Quintet, among others.

Da Vinci Alive Exhibition, Tel Aviv. January-March 2014

The international exhibition Da Vinci Alive, arrives in Tel Aviv in January 2014 as part of a world tour premiering in Israel. The exhibition is a multi-sensory experience for the whole family featuring light, sound, and movement to combine traditional art with the latest technologies, in the process leading visitors through the works and life of the artistic legend Da Vinci. Da Vinci Alive features over 3,000 Leonardo Da Vinci images, projected onto walls at a large scale, with music to guide visitors along a journey. Da Vinci Alive arrives in Tel Aviv on January 30, 2014, and is expected to continue through to March-April. Tickets should be pre-purchased and are available now.

Idan Raichel at Masada. June 13, 2014

Legendary Israeli musician Idan Raichel will perform at Masada as part of the Israeli Opera Festival in June 2014. Raichel, who is best known for his ‘project’ which includes musicians from a spectrum of different world backgrounds, and has toured extensively globally, topping World Music Charts, and gaining a loyal following among music lovers across the world. Idan Raichel is set to perform at Masada, aside the Dead Sea in a special concert which will be magical thanks to its wonderfully unique setting, on June 13, 2014.

La Traviata at Masada Opera Festival. June 12-17, 2014
