Amazing time for Nature Hikes near Netanya

Hurvat-melah (near the industrial zone of Or Akiva)

It’s winter in Israel now, but from the beginning of November to mid-February daffodils bloom in our country. Heavy rains are good for them and now whole carpets of beautiful flowers can be seen in different nature reserves.

Before you go to admire the daffodils, remember that in Israel it is forbidden by law to pick them. But you can get close, look at and smell their wonderful fragrance – as much as you like.
The nearest place to Netanya, where daffodils are now blooming, is Hurvat-melah. It is located near the city of Or Akiva. In ancient times, there was a quarry of King Herod, but now what is most interesting are the flowers.

Hurvat-melah is located near the industrial zone of Or Akiva. Having entered from highway 4, turn right on the first square into Ilan street and go all the way. Stop and walk along the sandy path to the hill on the right and you have arrived! Here they are – magic daffodils in the midst of Israeli winter.

In addition to daffodils, here you can see the flowering of Palestinian irises and anemones, also very beautiful.

Admission to Hurvat Melah is free.
