Netanya celebrates the International Women’s Week
With a variety of cultural and entertainment events, lectures and meetings with the leading women in Israeli society, including Lia Kenig, Yochi Brandes, Lucy Aharish, Dr. Yali Hashash.
– ‘Homes host women’ – a stand-up comedy show with actress and entertainer Yael Levental,
– The play ‘Mikveh’ produced by the Netanya Municipal Theater
– A unique lecture at Planetanya on the differences between the male brain and the female brain by Prof. Yoram Yovel,
– A unique tour to the Zanz neighborhood about the unique women in the community
– Exhibitions, musical performances and more
As part of this week, a fashion fair showcasing designer clothes, bags and accessories including Ronen Chen, Cala, Laster and more. In cooperation with the Netanya Branch of Israel Cancer Association:

Throughout the week there will be exhibitions of work by students in the design arts track of Ort Guttman school in the portico of Heychal Hatarbut.
At the center of the events is the ‘Houses Host Women’ project, which has proven very successful. The series of events all around the city will open ‘Houses Host Women’ with a meeting, As Incredible as They Come (March 4), a funny meeting filled with female energy that relates to all women at the open house on Tzarfat Street. On the same day, Mizrahi feminist activist, Dr. Yali Hashash, will come to the open house on Kedoshei Bazlan St. and give a fascinating lecture on feminism, being Mizrahi and the power to change.
Lucy Aharish will close out the International Women’s Day events with her lecture, Not Apologizing at the Arik Einstein Cultural Center, Ir Yamim, and will talk about what it is like being a woman, independent, a Muslim Israeli from Dimona, along with the professional fulfillment being a journalist and news presenter in the Middle East (March 11).
All ‘Houses Host Women’ events start at 8:00 p.m. and cost NIS 35 per meeting. All other International Women’s Day events cost NIS 45-55.
